BIOGRAPHY
Hon. Christopher T. Cohron is the Commonwealth's Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit. He was elected to the position in May 2004, after previously serving as First Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. The primary responsibility of the office is to see that justice is accomplished through the aggressive, competent and ethical prosecution of criminal cases.
Chris is past President of the Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorney's Association and current Legislative Director of the Commonwealth's Attorneys' Association. Chris represented the Commonwealth's Attorneys' Association during the 2004 Blue Ribbon Commission on Sentencing reform. He was the keynote speaker to the first convention of the Kentucky Narcotics Officers’ Association. Chris represents the Commonwealth's Attorneys' Association on the Kentucky Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Council. Chris was the CAA representative on the Kentucky DNA Policy Project which led to legislation for all felon DNA sampling. Chris also served on the Kentucky Criminal Justice Council and headed the Penal Code Revision Committee. He is currently serving on the Prosecutor's Advisory Council.

In 2007, Chris was honored as the Outstanding Commonwealth's Attorney for Kentucky by the Office of the Attorney General. In 2008, Chris was selected as Kentucky Outstanding Prosecutor by the Elder Abuse Awareness Council. In 2009, he was given the Meritorious Service Award by the Prosecutor's Advisory Council. In 2010, Chris was given the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a Commonwealth's Attorney in Kentucky - the Carroll M. Redford Award for Kentucky's Outstanding Prosecutor by the Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorney's Association.

ABOUT OUR OFFICE
The Commonwealth's Attorney's Office of Warren County functions as an advocate for the citizens of this community. The primary responsibility of the office is to see that justice is served through aggressive, competent and ethical prosecution of criminal cases. Our office works closely with local law enforcement in order to protect the rights and ensure the safety of the of Warren County. Our goal is to protect victims and to seek just sanctions for those who choose to violate our laws.
